Yoga
is wimpy- Yoga demands concentration,
strength, determination and stamina.
Yoga
is boring– To the outside observer, there does not appear to be much action, but
a 45 minute routine can provide a tough workout for nearly every muscle
in the body.
Yoga is only for those who
are flexible–
Yoga increases flexibility. The more stiff you
are, the more you will benefit. |
Yoga is for the young and fit– Everyone can benefit from yoga, older
adults in particular.
 | Yoga
is too difficult—Properly
taught, yoga is noncompetitive and strongly emphasizes self
acceptance. |
Yoga isn’t strengthening– Muscle mass, tone, and definition are all
enhanced through yoga.
Yoga
is a religion–
Yoga is not a
religion and it’s practice is not based on any particular belief. We
do not chant. |
Yoga doesn't relate to the
rest of my life– Actually, the whole point of yoga
is the rest of our lives. It
incorporates the “fitness for life” philosophy. |
